With that race last weekend (Rad Dirt Fest) my 2021 season has come to an end. No more races this year. And right now, that feels OK. Three events in three weekends has left me a bit fried (in a good way though 🙂 )
Still working on what next year will look like. Have already signed up for Ironman 70.3 Coeur d’Alene in June. At the moment, I think that will be my “A race” for the Spring/Summer. And that one is going to be a lot tougher course than this year’s Gulf Coast 70.3, that’s for sure! Colder water and the bike course is definitely not flat. Looking forward to getting to that part of the country though. And, as a fun bonus, it looks like more than a couple training team members will be there as well which is a fun bonus.
Had a lot of fun at this year’s Open Range Gravel race in KS and hoping to get that redemption ride next year. Looking like it will be an early one in April of 2022, still waiting for registration to open.
I’ll be looking for something in May as well — ideally another gravel race but maybe an early tri or aquabike? Not sure yet. At the moment, the Pony Xpress back down near Trinidad is a strong contender.
The rest of the year is TBD. I really love the gravel races — but with my one little taste of aquabike I’d like to try some more of that too.
Stay tuned!
